Open CarConnect and your vehicles are stacked one after another, each with its own card. A card shows the car's position on the map, fuel level or EV charge with remaining range, live lock status, and the current odometer reading. A Volkswagen is added with Volkswagen credentials and a Volvo with Volvo credentials. CarConnect connects through Smartcar, the connected-car platform, and the sign-in happens on the carmaker's own login page. CarConnect never sees or stores your manufacturer password. What it receives is a revocable access token for that one vehicle.
Because every car carries its own token, they stay independent.
